Munay Ki - The Rites that Grow Gods

written by

David Hill

These days it is easy to get hypnotised by the stories of scarcity that bombard us through the media. Clean air is running out, forests are disappearing, ice caps are melting. Species of fish and animals and birds are vanishing for ever. Fuel resources of coal, gas and oil will be used up. The world our grandchildren will inherit can look a pretty bleak place. What can we do about it? We recycle. We support political activists to influence the biggest groups of developed countries but it all feels like too little that will arrive too late to save what we had when we grew up.

I remember those days in the 50’s and 60’s. I would walk across the road into my woods, set free from breakfast to tea, to wander through hideouts, stream and tree house. It was a place to imagine, to expand, to sit around camp fires, to dream among trees and plants that I recognised, that grew as I grew. I remember drinking from natural springs and catching fish I baked in clay. I remember walking along back roads safely able to accept lifts from passing cars. I remember a great sense of community. This was Northern Ireland in my childhood – everything nurturing - that I would wish for my grandchildren, not the bleak picture of scarcity. Now I feel empowered to create this world of grace again for Gemma, Oliver and Rosie, so that they, their children and their grandchildren may grow up in a world of grace. I am empowered by Munay Ki! Munay Ki is a series of nine rites that take us on a journey of personal healing and connect us to lineages of medicine people who are healers, caretakers of the physical aspect of the earth, sages and caretakers of the energetic aspect of the earth.

These rites have been carried by the Laika, ancient wisdom keepers, who developed the technology to work with energy in the Himalayas about 40,000 years ago. From there they travelled to the four corners of the earth taking this knowledge into Europe, through Asia and across the frozen Bering Straits into the Americas. In each of these places their knowledge was the foundation of the ways of the medicine people. Their knowledge is nowadays most alive in Central and South America. Over the last five years I have trained in the energy healing techniques derived from the Laika that were the descendants of the Inca priests. These descendants, also known as the Q’ero, kept the ancient knowledge secret at 18,000 feet in the Andes until 50 years ago when they revealed themselves unexpectedly at a gathering of shaman. For the last 25 years Alberto Villoldo, a Doctor of Anthropology, has been working with them to bring their wisdom to the modern world, through the training of The Four Winds Society. The Four Winds energy healing training is exquisite– a fantastic journey of personal healing and acquisition of knowledge and tools, that release the energy that drives disease, that reclaim the soul parts lost through the experiences of this life and past lives, and that allow humans to die consciously having released their energetic baggage. I have just had the privilege of assisting the teaching of a full cycle of the energy healing training in the UK and what struck me most was the extent of personal change in every participant.

As we move through the great opportunity of change around 2012, where the earth’s magnetic field is at is lowest, these nine rites hold the potential of shifting the consciousness of every human on the planet. For this reason the Q’ero elders and the Four Winds Group have developed Munay Ki, to enable anyone of sincere intent to have the rites. The principles or practices that help grow the seeds planted through these rites are ages old: nonviolence, moderation – not wasting energy,

generosity, truthfulness and integrity. So here is something we can all do to change the consciousness of the planet. Even if you are sceptical about what you have just read, isn’t it worth takingpart in a glorious experiment, in something that youcan develop with sincere intent in your own way?
